Clarence Draving QSL's & Memorabilia Collection |
|
Clarence Draving was not an NRC member. This collection came from his grandson Steve, who lives south of me in Colorado Springs. I didn't know Steve but a mutual friend of ours is an amateur
radio operator like me, Bob Witte K0NR. Bob got us together when Steve was looking for someone who would preserve these historic documents. We met in Castle Rock for lunch. According to Steve’s Dad, Clarence became interested in
AM radio at an early age and had an intercom between his house and a friend down the street. The intercom with its long connecting wire picked up AM radio! From that Clarence built up his own radio, one of the few in Piqua, Ohio. From Clarence to his son to his grandson and now added to the NRC’s collection.
These items are some of the oldest on our website. Some very interesting Cuban radio trade industry magazines where also with the collection and they have been donated to David Gleason's fine site World Radio History
